Cecchi de Rossi
An agricultural college graduate from a family with a long tradition in leather tanning, Tommaso Cecchi de Rossi's, has created a line of bags are born of repurposed materials. Having spent years studying ancient and exotic tanning processes, de Rossi has created a special dying technique for fabrics and leather using dyes made from wines of the Tuscan region. The dye was developed by combining the pigments of various wines and natural plant extracts. The colors result from the chemical reaction between the kind of plant, the alcoholic content of the mixture, and the acid levels of the wine.
